Day 1 @ Chiang Mai

I'm suppose to post this up earlier, but...but...but...anyway. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chiang Mai served as honeymoon destination for us.
Flight to Chiang Mai was quite pleasant and punctual (thanks to Airasia) and it didnt take very long in collecting our luggage. Upon our arrival, we headed out and start looking everywhere for our name. A person who hold on a piece of cardboard that written our name... for hotel transfer.
Yes, the girl in green T-shirt standing with a cardboard in hand. Anyway, after waiting for 20 minutes for everybody in her list to arrive, we were finally tucked into a van and just like school children, dropped us off one by one to our hotel.
Upon arriving at our hotel, we were shocked.....why?
In front of us is our hotel, looked old and rusty, ghostly-like-lobby, zombie-looking-receptionist, musty kinda smell and so on...Eiyer...
Mmm...but what to expect for RM316 4D/3N twin-sharing bedroom, right? And just 5 minutes walk to the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, so we didnt complaint much...
At least this lil' fler is happy to see us!
After we left our bagages inside hotel room, we went out scouting around the area, at the same time looked for some food. Walked around abit, bought a sunblock and shower gell at Boots and wait for the time our tour guide to pick us up for home industry half day tour.
First we went to this honey-bee factory...took this picture because jk think this hiao-looking-bee looked just like one kid that we know...
And this is that kid we talking about...
See? Same pattern or not?
Silk making factory - Shinawatra, owned by Prime Minister of Thailand
As a demo, this auntie sitting there and boiled up a bunch of poor lil caterpillars and at the same time yanking out their silky string. Mmm...poor things hor.
Auntie must be sit there for thousand years, repeating the same thing everyday... that's why auntie didnt show any face espression.
This is how they made the silk. Our tour guide told us even the most professional woven expert can only finished 1 metre of silk in 4 hours. uhhhh....
Next we headed to an umbrella making factory....
For 10baht, they can paint a very beautiful motif on almost everything. Camera pouch, jeans, umbrellas except on your forehead. Why I know? Because I asked that question...hahaha
Freshly painted umbrella for drying.
We had some khoa soi after we came back from those 'market' visit thingy.
Khoa soi is actually a fried noodle soaked in chicken curry gravy. Taste quite good.
With 2 side dishes that we didnt bother to eat :D
After our light meal (it just few strands of noodle), went back hotel to freshen up, meet up with Grandfather Chow for a while :), and off we went and looked for some food again.
We actually have no idea what to eat, just following our instinct.
Some restaurant was too crowded, didnt go in because we thought must take wait a very long before our food is served. Some was too empty, didnt go in either, must be the food not nice :). Some restaurant didnt have english discription in the menu, how the hell are we going to order? Sigh........
See, walk walk walk donno go where.....
Until we spotted this lovely hut. They have english in their menu and the lady owner is quite friendly.
Since there are just 2 of us, we thought of order 2-3 dishes. That should be just nice.
1stly - must have: Tom Yum Gong,
green chicken vege, since we lacked of fiber....
and stir-fry chicken in basil leaf.
I've always fancy their Tom Yum Gong aloooootttt! Spicy, sourish, smell really good. And not to mention their prawns are soooo fresh and crunchy.
I ate around 5-6 pieces and there still alot more in the bowl, but jk also whacked up a lot too...haiii and he said he dont eat prawn. Cherrr....
At the end of the day, we finished the bowl of Tom Yum Gong and everything inside, the stir-fry chicken in basil leaf...
The only dish we didnt finish (we hardly touched it) was this vege green curry. Hou em tim laaaa...
But overall we were satisfied. Walked around at the night bazaar, but after a few minutes, we feel kinda disappointed as all those pasar malam traders selling almost the same things. Cherr...just like petaling street..same supplier I guess.
Bought this scarf at 35 baht. For what? You'll know......hehe
