Special delivery: Nancy Chong Butter Cake from Ipoh

Butter Cake. The latest pregnancy craving......

Not the normal butter cake from any bakery shop, mind you. It is the legendary Nancy Chong Butter Cake in Ipoh. I've heard so much about this old lady, Nancy Chong who bakes her famed cakes for more than 4 decades ago.

Until my latest craving for butter cake (well, after the end of my durian craving episode :)), an old friend of both of us doing me a big favor by making an order and delivered it to KL. Constant nagging works. :)

Frankly I found the icing/frosting was way toooooo sweet for my sweet tooth (or I have none?). But it's weird. One moment I found the icing is really sweet to swallow and the next moment, I found myself non-stop shoving the cake+icing into my mouth. Ish, ish, ish......

Overall, it's nice. The cake infused with heavenly butter taste. I don't mind eating the whole cake again. Hahahaha......scary leh? I walloped nearly the whole 1 kg of butter cake. Sei foh lor.....I could be strike with diabetes any moment now since I'm in pregnancy stage. Geez....maybe it explained why the baby so active squirming around. Sugar high already la......

My friend bought some cupcakes for Caleb but I whacked most of them too! Oh bad, bad mami... Hahaha.....

Backdated post: A lil update on me

I was feeling really hungry this afternoon and I cooked myself a very big bowl of maggi mee. Hak! :D I know...I'm poisoning the baby again. But not my fault la because I can hear the baby is pestering me to cook it and eat it.... Maggi mee....Maggi mee...I want you, I want you :) wahahaha...

I've been craving for maggi mee for a while now. Just the whiff of the aroma emitted was aaddictive and luring enough. How could someone made it so deadly lethal and delicious at the same time? The greatest invention of all. :) Agree?

So, today I cooked 2 packets of maggi mee! Ha ha ha....crazy. To neutralize my guilt, I throw in some vegetables. Nope, didn't lessen my guilt at all.

Just an update: (I suppose to update this 2 weeks ago...)
I'm in week 30 now. Tummy is huge (yes, again. What's new?) and I've put on another 2kg in just 3 weeks. Went for check up last Friday and Obs confirmed to me again it's a boy by showing me his kukubird (again!) Ok, ok....I get it.

At week 30, belly diameter 42"

Baby's weight is almost 1.5kg now. Position is quite low and which is why I always have the urge to poo and pee throughout the day and night. Night trips to the bathroom is about 3-4 times. I can't manage to walk too far and need to stop every few minutes to huff and puff. Walking is torturous and tiring.....

And he kick me with no mercy. Kick? Mmm...I need more serious verb. He did tornado inside me, scratch my bladder and I think he is gonna rip me off from inside, crawl out with my guts and blood, just like an alien. Hahaha....sorry, I didnt scared you, did I? Pardon me, this mommy is not thinking straight now. :))

Sigh, sometimes I wished he'd come out earlier, but isn't that mean he would be born a premie?

No, nobody wants that and so I'm just gonna bear enjoy it. My, my....I'm going into kitchen and make some tea now. Anybody to join me?

Caleb's Sport Day

Last Saturday, it was Caleb's sport day and graduation ceremony  for the year 2012. The hall loaded with people, mostly parents and students by the time we reached. Boy....Caleb was excited meeting up with his friends.

On the way going to the hall

This is his classmates. A bunch of little kiddos waiting for performance. For 3yo class, they were only 8 of them and divided into 2 group, each consists of 3-4 kids. Caleb was in pink team, notice the headband? Looks like 'sakai' right? Hahaha....

He was holding on their team flag, ready for marching out :)

Now, everybody marching out...left, left right left, left, left right left. He looked so cute while marching. He took it very seriously. Haha....

Still marching...
The graduates receiving their certificate :)

And soon, it was activities time. For 3yo, there were only 2 activities prepared for them. One is ball threading game and another is numbers matching game.

For ball threading game, they need to run off with a thin rope in hand to a designated basket with balls. Each of them will have to string the ball through and ran back, high five the following team member before went to the back, queueing up again.

Caleb's team lost the match, due to one girl in his team which preferred to walk instead of run :(....... But still, it was fun watching Caleb running through out the match and also able to take instruction very very well. Good boy!

Next, the numbers matching game.

His team lost this match as well. Ohhhh........ya, it was the 'siew che' again. In the end he got 2 silver trophies.

It doesn't really matter who win or lose, in the end I'm proud of my son for his team spirit and his enthusiasm toward sport. That is what most matter to me :)

Now, what should I do with these?

'Kok-kok-kok' like this?

Good job Caleb!

I shall post some of his pictures happily playing with his bunch of classmates. All small kecik meow playing , shouting and sweating....

Egg sandwich for Caleb's lunch

I made egg sandwich for Caleb's lunch yesterday.

The lazy mother was super lazy and basically run of an idea on what to feed his son. Actually I think this is a very good, simple and nutritious meal to prepare. All ready in 20 minutes...

Just in case that you want to know the ingredients,

1 egg
1/3 potato
1/3 carrot
1 slice of cheese
2 tablespoon Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon tomato sauce (I ran out of tomato sauce, so I didn't put any)
Spring onion (optional)
A dash of pepper
A bit of salt
1 teaspoon of flax seed oil (optional too)
4 slices of bread

Put the egg, potato and carrot into a pot of water and bring it to boil. Everything should be cooked in 15 minutes. Mashed it all up on a plate including that slice of cheese. Add in the mayo and tomato sauce and the rest of it, mix thorougly.

Spread it on bread and tadaaaa.....lunch is served.

I got no complaint from him. He whacked half of it (shoved another half of it into my mouth) and gave me a thumb's up after that. :)

It's good. Really good. Can you see that bits of carrot?

This is the 2nd time I made egg sandwich within this week. I'm sure if I asked wheather he wants to eat egg sandwich for tomorrow lunch again, the answer would be 'yes'. Mmmm.... but I'm getting boring already :)

Caleb's lantern party at his kindy

2 weekends ago, Caleb had his Moon Cake Festival celebration in his kindy and a week before they made their own lantern, of course mostly with teacher's help.

Yupe, that's his lantern. When I ask him, who did the coloring for his lantern, he said "Caleb."

Mmmm...I doubt it. Hahaha...

It's kinda pot luck party where they asked for parent's contribution. At first I wanted to bake cake or cupcake or something like that. But on a second thought, I'm lazy, plus my backache is killing me now. And whadda-u-know, a whole stretch of 10 feet table was full with foodies. Fried meehoon, curry chicken, hotdogs, sausages, nuggets, puddings, jellies, cupcakes with nice frosting, buttercakes, pies, tarts, you name it, it's basically there. Luckily I didn't bring anything or else mine could be abandoned.

The party went quite well but unfortunately most of Caleb's classmates didn't show up and he was left out. Sad.... He still went around trying to fit in older group of kids but most of them ignore him. Soooo sad ler.

Anyway, he entertained himself by taking sweets and puddings, went around asking other kids "Do you want some? Do you want these?" Hahaha........just like a Santa Clause.

You see? sad or not? Sigh......

Nevermind, I can play by myself ....

It's ok baby, you'll have a lot of friends when you grow up. Mummy still love you very much although I always brush you off sometimes when you ask me to play with you. :(
