Last weekend cousin came...

Cousin sister came to visit me over the weekend as she need to attend her colleague's wedding dinner on Sunday night.

So, right after she reached my house on Saturday, straight away we planned to go to 1-U for our first kai kai itinerary. We had our late lunch at Delicious. Mmmm...delicious. We just ordered one main dish 'Pan-seared Crispy Skin Salmon served with Coriander Relish, Asparagus & Fried Potatoes' because we need to save some spaceas we gonna whack alot of unagi later for dinner. Hehe...
Went over to the dessert counter and saw this Lemon Meringue Pie. Looks nice...taste even better :) Sorry, no photos. Too busy entertaining Caleb already.

Anyway, Caleb had bits of Salmon too. Dadi not around ma.... (oh yes, jk get paranoid when he saw cooked fish, any kind of cooked fish, the smell of cooked fish, the shape of cooked/dead fish and a person who has Fish as her name...like Fish Leong ^^) I guessed we wouldn't be together if my name was FISH, mmm...

We walked around 1U, going in to MPH, strolling around Cold Storage and 2 hours later we had blueberry pancake and banana and nuts waffle with ice cream at Waffle World. Tea time ma....Nice, really nice.

Went back around 8:30pm and by the time we reached home, Caleb was already half  k.o already. So, I prepared him for his bedtime i.e washing his bum bum, wear diaper for him and changing into his pyjamas, . Dadi came back from his dinner and offered to take care of Caleb while cousin and I went to have our late dinner. So peaceful when you dont have baby eating with you...

After dinner, went for coffee, sit down chit chat until 12:30am. Went back, bathed, changed and sleep...aahhhhh

Next day, we went to Empire @ Subang Jaya, where I went before few weeks ago. We had lunch at this super nice restaurant, Serai and cousin ordered Nasi Kerabu, something asam spices with ox tails that she claimed very very nice, salted fish with Kailan and Berry Pavlova  for dessert. I'm still full and dont feel like having a heavy lunch so I just shared what she had. Moreover I need to entertain my 'king' or else he'll be all over the place.

My Cousin and Caleb.

Playing with himself while we were browsing inside Top Shop.
I think he's signing something with his hands.

Aiya..headache la.
 Nasi Kerabu to die for...

Oh my love...Berry Pavlova. Crust is sooo soft with super silky smooth cream top with sweet strawberries and grapes. Mmmmmmm

Went back at around 4pm and cousin need some rest before she started to groom herself before dinner. Hahaha....girls ma...

She went back back to Penang after we had tummy-full dim sum the next morning. Time flies especially when you are having a good time. Well, since she already bought Ms Garmin GPS, she can drive down here whenever she need a vacation. I'll be right here waiting....hehe

Since the shop owner said after this last batch of milk powder sold out, they will be selling at new price. But I didnt ask how much the price will be,  just asked him how much he still has in his stock. He said around 9 boxes. Then I said I want all.... hahaha

Jk: What makes you think I bring enough cash?

Me: Hahaha...not enough, Public Bank nearby only ma...RM1.10 cheaper leh. Save you RM10 already :)

I rant

I just hate those ppl making remarks that SAHM only eat-full-wait-shit-come and do nothing in between. Some brainless (no brain ma, how to think before talk) people thinking that staying at home is just merely sitting at home, goyang kaki, go shopping, go high tea, do pedicure, pretty pretty, smell wangi wangi...

Oh, taking care of baby jek, so easy. Baby just eat and sleep and when they dont eat or sleep, they just sit dumbly at one corner, waiting for the time to eat and sleep. Baby...what else they can do?

Unlike me, oh...I'm so fucking stress up, job not yet done, so many things to do, customer marah, boss making me eat dead cat, all sei pat poh in the office pok pek pok pek talking behind my back. So tension!

Sound familiar?

Wei, please la. I worked before ok? Is not that I become SAHM right after I've graduated. I worked in the lab before, I worked in multi sucker big electronic company before and I worked in sales and marketing before. Dont think I dont know how's life at work before. Damn...at least last time I still have off day on Saturday and Sunday and Public Holiday. SAHM? NONE... Sick ar? Too bad la.

But, SAHM at home ma, no need holiday one. Didnt work wor, want holiday for what?

Oh, then what my baby eat everyday? Food fall down from sky issit? No need to go market buy, clean, cut and cook issit? Baby eat by himself one issit? Baby wake up everyday no need to make milk issit? Baby poo and pee no need to change and clean issit? The broom and mop magically work it wonder around the house issit? Dirty clothes and smelly diapers clean by themselves issit? Dry clothes fold up by itself issit? Baby guai guai go bath by himself issit? Baby can go and sleep on his own issit? Baby wont lau kai one issit?

Man.... Sometimes I dont even remember when the last time I washed my hair :s

Dont get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I'm consider myself lucky to have the privilege in taking care of my baby myself. More than happy knowing that he is healthy, getting heavier day by day and his learning milestones is amazing. I get see his new found achievement everyday and he never stop making me proud.

But please, before you get your facts right, before you understand how's SAHM feel, before you get back your brain to think (the brainless one).... shut up lor.

Finger food

Finger food for Caleb is crucial thing when we are dining out. No finger food can means haywire, cannot eat in peace, one of us will eat alone and keep on shouting at Caleb to sit down on his babychair.

So, once finger food is at low beeping sound, it's time to reinstock again....

These are the things I bought the other day we went to Jaya Grocer in The Empire @ Subang Jaya. Not a normal place we'd go to buy our grocery but since this is a newly opened shopping mall, we just go and check it out! (actually Kennysia wrote about it in his blog and I want to try Nasi Kerabu and Pavlova dessert @ Serai so so so badly)

Orchard apple biscotti by Heinz.

Each pack of these contains 12 finger biscuits. These biscuits smell really appley when I first opened it up. Eventually I took a bite before I gave it to Caleb because I want to make sure it is not too sweet. Did you ever taste Milna Rusk baby biscuits? These biscuits I don't know how much sugar they put inside. I bought a packet of it before and ended throwing 99% away after I tasted it. TOOOOO SWEET wtf. Can cause me diabetes, tooth decay and high blood pressure!

Ok, back to Heinz apple biscotti...They taste midly of sweet apples and they dissolve so fast in his hungry mouths so I'm not so worried about him getting choked on it. But still, I need to supervise and monitor them whenever he is eating. The size of each biscuits fit snugly in their little hand too!

Each pack priced at RM4.50

Little kids Breadstick cheesy from Heinz.

This is my favourite. Haha...nola, not favourite as I'm eating it. It's my favourite because Caleb will take ages to chew them down due to its hard texture. Breadstick ma...really like stick oh...keke
So, while Caleb is having fun time playing with his stick the breadstick, then I can have 3-4 minutes eating time without any interruption.

Each packet contains 12 breadstick with 2 pieces in 1 individual packing. Convenient when I'm in rush and i'll just stuff 2 packs in my diaper bag.

Each packet priced at RM9.40

Organic apple mini rice cakes by Heinz (again.. :))

I've been giving this rice cakes since Caleb was around 10months old. That time he still didn't know how to use his 2 front teeth to bite. So, I broke it into small pieces and encourage him to feed himself (so that I can more time finishing on my food...haha)

Taste wise is quite bland and it has mild apple scent on it. Each piece is coated with little amount of sticky apple syrup. The size are just nice and very easy to handle in their little hand and when they bite into it, no crumble falling everywhere.

Each packet weight at 40g with around 18-20 pieces.

Each packet priced at RM9.90

Organic Bubs. No Numbers. No nasties. JUST REAL ORGANIC FOOD! I just love their slogan ^^

One of my favourite too. They have 12 flavours to choose from and all comes in Pouch Power Pack. So far, I've tried their Pear & White Grape, Apple & Cinnamon, Banana & Apricot Power Porridge and this new flavour: Apple & Berry Bircher Muesli. All taste very very good.

You can serve it either hot or cold from fridge. For me, I'd mixed it in his plain cereal or porridge when I don't have much ingredient at home. Or I just feed him directly onto the spoon as dessert after lunch/dinner meal. Sometimes, I'll just bring it out with me and feed him during our dining out time. No hassle, No mess. :)

The only disadvantage is although keep refrigerated after open, it can only be keep up to 48hours. :(

Each packet weighed at 120g and price at RM9.90 (ouch!)

Communicate with Caleb

There are times when Caleb fully understand some words that I'm saying, such as 'Let's go pom pom (bath)', 'Mami go make milk milk', 'Sit down first, Mami give you biscuits', 'Caleb, give...' and 'Caleb, go away...' :) The last one a bit tricky. He choose to ignore every time I said it when he come lingering fiddling with my feet, crawling under my chair while I'm surfing the net or do anything on my laptop.

Sometimes, he would nod his head when I talked to him, just like he totally understand every words I'm saying. Then he reply with '... aaahh aaahh uhhh eh?' Haha..high pitch at the end like asking me question. I replied again la...and again and again..until he got bored and walk away.

Aiya, mami so boring, I better go do something else.. haha

There was one time when we went shopping, we walked into this particular shop selling very simple and nice decorative stuffs, notepads, bags. Me and jk  were so busy looking at those stuffs and we didnt push his pram. After a while, he begin to twist and turn and wail. I said 'Okok...mami give you toys toys, ok?'. Then he stopped and sat calmly.

I totally forgot about his toys until he twist and turn and wail again. Only this time MORE SERIOUS and LOUDER. Jk asked why he acted like this. Ohhh...I remembered that I've promised him to give him toys but no action. :)

Haha..patutla bising bising. After I passed him his toys, then he settled in his pram again...

Phewww...another great excape from the superbaby.

Walking and walking and walking....

Today mark a very special date: 10/10/10 (but too bad I didnt update this at 10:10am :))

Well, nothing special happen to me, just that a lot of ppl are making a fuss about it, so I didnt want to miss out the crowd ^..^ haha

Caleb has been walking and walking and walking but still unstable just like a drunk guy. Sometimes he still fall flat on the floor (*hak hak - evil mom) but he didnt cry or anything. I just lifted him up and there he goes again. Walking and walking...and he didnt want me to hold his hand! Ish ish ish...

And when he's tired, he just sit on the floor...aiyo..dirty dirty. I know it meant to be dirty here and there when he's learning stuff. I cannot expect to arm with antiseptic all the time right? So after his 'walking' session, I'll bath him as he will be sweating all over. Then let him dirty la....

This is him walking and smiling all the way...

Sometimes when he's tired of walking, I'll just let him sit on the giraffe.

First time sitting on this weird looking creature, that's why he didnt dare to move around. Maybe if I can move this giraffe to my house, he can sit quietly...hahaha...

No, I dont think so......

Ohh...it's signing time!!

Every morning, after Caleb drink his milk milk and did his poo poo, it will be his signing time (so that I can brush my teeth, shit my shit and eat my breakfast :))

This video is very good and it was recommended by my sis-in-law who live in SG. We saw how her first daughter picking up all the signing language when she was barely 18mths old. That time, she knew how to sign hungry, cheese, cracker, banana, help, cold, hot and so on.

Me and jk were awe at her.

So, it proven to be useful as they can let you know what they want instead of just crying and throw tantrum.
Ohh..I just hate that. Every time when Caleb throw tantrum, I will take a deep breath or just walk away. Sometimes it works and sometimes oh well, didnt.

This is what they said about it:
Infants can communicate before they can talk with baby sign language. You no longer need to guess what your baby is trying to tell you. She can let you know she wants milk using sign language, instead of crying. Babies can sign; before most babies talk they wave bye-bye and blow kisses. Baby signing is a natural extension of these gestures. Hearing babies benefit from baby sign language because it supports early brain development and builds pre-literacy skills. Studies show that infants who learn sign language score 8-12 points higher than their non-signing peers, when tested after second grade. Sign language for babies and toddlers helps them develop speech sooner. Infant sign language does not discourage speech; it actually encourages speech because signs are reinforced with the sound of the words, repetition and music.

Caleb have been watching this video for almost 3 months now. He can sign hungry, banana, apple, candy, ice cream, cookies, cheese but depending on his mood. If his mood is good, he can give you a flying kiss as well. ^^

This is Caleb shaking his si fat aka bum bum inside his baby cot at the end of the video. He is dancing  following the beat somemore...haha
