"Dog leh?"

Hahaha....I need to blog about this before I completely forget all about it.

We went for a late dinner last night at one of the tai chow restaurant near my house. So, as usual after jk finished eating, he carried Caleb away outside see trees, aeroplane, birds ... so that I can continue to have my meal in peace. Suddenly jk came to me and said "Eh, your son can talk already. Just now he said 'dog' 4 times". My eyesballs nearly dropped off.... haha

Actually there were a few dogs laying around the walkway. So, jk pointed at them and said, "dog" a few times. Then Caleb also followed his dadi pointing and said, "dog", "dog", "dog"...

We left the restaurant and on the way walking to our car, I asked Caleb again, "Caleb, dog leh?". He turned his head towards the walkway and his eyes was searching for the dogs. Then he pointed at those dogs. Wahhh....banyak pandai ohhh ini  budak. Hahaha

At night, before we tucked him in for sleep, I asked him again "Caleb, where's dog?". He pointed to jk and said, "Dog". LMAO....kakakaka....

Now he point everywhere and say dog, dog, dog... *pengsan*

Website review - Sentuhan Bayu

I stumbled upon this particular website selling Cloth Diaper. Sentuhan Bayu

sentuhanbayu.biz

Well, what's so special about this website right? There are so many websites which are selling Cloth Diaper too.
The most special thing about this web store is that they RENT out Cloth Diaper. Yes, RENT OUT for 90 days.

Their approach are quite good because by renting out, parent (well most of them are mummies) can see, feel, touch and TRY it before making a bulk purchase on the cloth diapers. They are not cheap especially when you need to buy like 10 - 20 sets that will last for 2 days (depends on how often you do your laundry)

Anyway, it also depends on which brand / outlook (some have panther patches, zebra strips, strawberry shortcakes...yes, very intriguing) / material and inserts that you want. As for me, I'm using Coolababy. I think by far, this is the cheapest brand that served it purpose very well. So far, I'm very happy with its performance.

I'm glad that I actually found it. Yes, hallelujah!!  Thank God.

That time when I decided to move back to kl after my confinement in my hometown, I begin to worry about Caleb's diaper. As he grow older, his pee pee amount became mountain high. I cannot afford disposable diapers all the time and  he might develop rashes on him bum bum if he wrapped in disposable diaper for too long. And if I'm using the olden folded cloth and fastened with diaper pins, I will die in just washing tonnes and tonnes of it everyday. Sei...I'm alone taking care of Caleb, how can do so many thing. So, this cloth diaper comes in rescue!

I'm glad...really glad. It can hold pee for 2-3h long Washing them is like a breeze and didn't take alot of space in drying. I stayed in 900sf apartment with no balcony for hanging by the way.

Ok, back to Sentuhan Bayu....

Other than renting out Cloth Diaper, they also carry quite a number of brands like Autumnz, BumGenuis, Envibum, Happy Heinys and Malaysian made Bayu Diapers. Currently they are having RM10 off each diapers includes including all lovely prints diapers.

Happy Heinys - Cow Hide
( I fell in love with this prints almost immediately)

Anyway, I'd strongly encourage Cloth Diapering due to it is cheaper compare to disposable diapers (in the long run), it also healthier for your baby and better for the environment.
Just read this makes my heart sank:
According to the Sustainability Institute eighty percent of the diaperings in this nation are done with disposables. That comes to 18 BILLION diapers a year, just in the US. They require thousands of tons of plastic and hundreds of thousands of trees to manufacture. After a few hours of active service these materials are trucked away, primarily to landfills, where they sit, neatly wrapped packages of excrement, entombed or mummified, undegraded for several hundred years. The idea of a "disposable" diaper is a myth, the ramifications of which will stay with us for centuries to come. They are the 3rd largest single product in the waste stream behind newspapers and beverage containers. The urine and feces in disposable diapers enter landfills untreated, possibly contaminating the ground water supply. When you consider the unnecessary depletion of our valuable forests, the huge volume of garbage created, the toxic air and water pollution and the potential health risks to children, it is very difficult to comprehend how washing and reusing cloth diapers could ever be considered an inconvenience. They are a rewarding investment all around. A financial investment, an investment in our children’s health, and an investment in our planet.

Rent and try it out yourself.

Anyway, if you are rather concern about used diapers, you can opt for putting a reusable or disposable liner on top. If you are really squeamish, then this might not for you. I'd suggest that you buy 2 or 3 set of cloth diaper to try it out.

But I'm sure that you wouldn't regret it! Me myself love it to bits! Never try never know ma, right?

the day Caleb @ Neway Karaoke

Since my arrival 14 months ago, mami stay at home most of the day and night taking care of me and taking care of all the house works. Even thou dadi does go out for his usual once a week badminton session, occasionally snooker and drinking session. I think Mami just stay at home because she dont have any friend. My mami so pathetic .... sigh...

I know taking care of me is not easy because I'm a superbaby and I did a lot of 'super' stuffs.
So, in order to keep mami's sanity in a tolerance level, dadi decided to bring us to Neway Karaoke one night with my Ma Ma and dadi's cousin brother.

I enjoyed myself very much dancing, swaying, nodding my head following the beat and crawling on the long sofa.

Now u see me?

Now you dont...

I want to be spiderman again....

Wait a minute, I found something... Ohh..my favourite remote control

Wahh...the girl inside the screen so SEXY!! I likey!!

If you happy and you know it clap your hand...

At the end I ko-ed and slept on the sofa. Too tired, beh tahan already....mmm...dadi, when are you going to the 'Boom Boom Boom' room again? :D

Mami is busy, you eat yourself, ok? - 2nd attempt

If you can remember, I trained Caleb for self feeding 2 months ago and he mess that he created nearly make me fainted ~:~

Anyway, I braved myself again and determine to let him try for the 2nd time. So during one of his feeding session, I placed another bowl and spoon in front of him, put some porridge in it while I'm holding the big bowl of porridge myselfto feed him.

Initially, he's trying patiently to scoop the porridge and bring it inside his mouth.

Stir stir abit

Then put into my mouth

 Scoop somemore

So slow..I better use hand. Easier ma...

Eik..I think I dropped something inside.
(* pick up with hands and pop inside my mouth)

Improvement:
- spoon is for eating.
- holding on to the spoon, scooped the porridge, and put inside his mouth (for a good 5 minutes, then there goes in his hands)
- less messy compared to last time (at least the hair, the eyes, the forehead is not covered by porridge.)

My baby is finally walking...today.

Today mark the day of Caleb reaching 14 months.

His feeble little feet started to walk quite sturdy for one and half meter, about 5-6 steps at one go.

Amazing....just looking at him walking really fascinating.

Half an hour later, he got up and walk and walk and walk and I lost track how many steps he had walked. He even can change direction by turning left or right. Hahaha...

Yupe, my baby is walking. Walking @ 14 months.

I'm so happy now.....but I can pictures myself yelling frantically for him at shopping mall already. And I can see that particular day is just around the corner.

But I'm still happy now :D

Baking cake with Caleb around...

I baked a cake yesterday with Caleb around. Yes, you heard me right. Me alone and Caleb with no 'jaga'. Last time when my mil around, I will  still bake sometimes because she can help me to look after him and prevent him from going into the kitchen or bring Caleb downstairs at my apartment for a walk.

I cannot bake when he sleep because he is a light-sleeper and my mixer surely will wake him up in no time. So, I dont bake when he's around.

But yesterday, I dont know what went into me. I decided I want to bake by hook or by crook.

So, I put him in his highchair...

Buckled up....

Give him lots of cereal/biscuit and a bottle of water...

So that he can drink it whenever he wants.

Place him facing me and I started to work in no time.

Weighing, mixing, cleaning....and when I almost finish, I took a look at him...........

CHAM LOR!!

He drenched his shirt till his pant. All wet!!

I worried that he might catch a cold afterward before it was raining and very windy even in the house. So, I quickly picked him up and changed him. But then I smelled something that I always familiar of every morning. He pooed. Haaiii....my batter still havent pour out into a baking pan leh....sit there too long can or not? But no choice lor...quickly changed his diaper too.

After changed him, he started to scream and wail and getting cranky. Aiyoo..sleeping time tim. Okla...let's go sleep la. Dont want to bother about the batter already. :(

Finally after 15mins, Caleb slept.

Went into the kitchen and quickly poured out the batter into baking pan. Shoved into the oven....

The end result?

It rises! It rises! and very evenly too!!

Ohh, so happy! Smell great too!!

Very nice, very soft....

The name of this recipe is actually marble cake. But all the chaos going in between, I got no time to divide 2 part of the batter to mix some cocoa powder in one of it.

So, this is my version of butter cake.

Not bad ma...right?

Angel vs Monster

Caleb is an angel and melt my heart when he:

-in his good mood and i snuggle my head at his tummy and make him laughing out loud.

-come to me and kiss me on my lips but with his cute little mouth wide open when I asked for "kiss kiss mami"

-walking clumsily and dropped down to crawling, laughing and shouting at the same time to me when I called for him.

-soundly drift off on my shoulder when his battery power become to negative

-sleep within minutes when I patted him for his afternoon nap.

But he become a MONSTER and getting in my nerves when he:

-twist and turn and scream whenever I need to put on diapers for him.

-put his fingers and korek all the porridge inside his mouth and drop it everywhere.

-climb up on sofa and throw all the remote controls down on the floor.

-whining and twisting when we put him in his car seat.

-pushes the basket full of his neatly folded clothes on the ground and messed it all up.

-climbing up on coffee table for the 39,567 times.

-cry, wail and curve his body when I didn't give in to his demands.

Caleb oh Caleb, what I should do with and without you.......

No more fever..yay

Caleb's fever subsided in 2 days after he took the antibiotic that Dr. prescribed. His voice come to normal when he cry/shout/scream/wail. No more loud snoring sound too when he sleep at night.

Highly energetic ....can kill 2 tigers with bare hand already

And I couldn't keep up with his energetic power, I decided to "cage" him.

So how? Cry lor...

Caleb sick

Caleb is having fever for the past 2 days. His temperature fluctuate 36.9 deg to 37.4 deg, coming and going and a bit high especially at night and midnight. Other than that he's behaviours are normal.

- Messed around the house as usual.
- Crawling at the speed of lightning.
- Throwing things around
- Eat his porridge impatiently

But he didnt seem to finish up his milk.

He slept around 10pm at night but will be wailing around 3:30 - 4am in the morning. I guessed maybe due to some mucus and blocking his air way. Tossed and turned the whole night until 5am and only settling down to sleep again.

For 2 nights, we didnt got much sleep.

So, better bring him to see Doctor...

Dr Chan confirmed that he is having inflammation inside his throat. Red and swollen, and due to that made him difficult to breath and sleep. And because of that, his fever wont subside.
The Dr asked if we want to let Caleb to recover naturally (means more sleepless nights) or prescript an antibiotic. I asked for the latter one because superbaby cannot sleep, everyone also no need to sleep.

Today is the 2nd day after he took the medicine. Getting better... :) But the mami fall sick already :*(

Malacca trip...part 2

Ok, back to part 2 of our Malacca trip.

After we've checked into our room, done admiring the room, the toilet, the bed, the scenery...next, FREE and EASY program.

Some of us want to do manicure and pedicure, some want to do spa, some want to go for massage and some just want to go for a swim. For me, I desperately need to get my foot done. Both my heel cracked like street map.

For each room we booked, we got special price for body massage only at RM88++. I didnt take it because my first priority still my cracked heel la..I WANT PEDICURE!!

Spa Pedicure 60min for RM65. Sounds good, right? How about adding on another relaxing bath? Sounds great too! hehe

Without wasting anymore time, 4 of us went down to level 3 and make our booking time.

All our session will only start in half an hour time. So, we went back room and eat CAKES. What cake ar? Mmm...Melaka super famous Mille Crepe @ Nadeje.

Bought it on the way to the hotel. Original, Rum raisin, Green tea and Berrystrawberry. Original is the best! Rum raisin also not bad la. Strawberry ok also. Green tea so so only. Anyway, 4 slices already RM34. No choice, famous ma...have to try ^^

Ok, back to the spa....
So, in the end I took Spa Pedicure for 60min and Aromatherapy bath for 30min. As the description written there: Refresh yourself with the mixture of lavender (yum yum) and sea salt for a calming (oh yea, I need that) and soothing sensation.

As good as that sound, it even better when you soak in it. Remember when you watched some English movie where a lady wearing nothing (I'm sure she got something on.. :)) soak in a bathtub with 2 ft high bubbles cover everything except the head part? Yes, that's what it looks like and it is damn so relaxing. The 'ji ji ji' part where jacuzzi swaying it miracle wand...feel so gooood. Relieved everything instantly...

For 30 mins, I'm in heaven. RM50? Worth every penny.

There is a bathtub outside the room, at the balcony. Only covered with blinds and there I was, soaking in a bubble aromatherapy bath.

After the bath, I was lead to another rooom where my friend was waiting. We did our pedicure by laying down on the bed. Eh, not bad wor...you can sleep while someone fiddling with your foot. :)

Later in the evening, we proceeded for our dinner at Portuguese Settlement over at Jalan d'Albuquerque, Ujong Pasir. I have no idea how to pronouce d'Albuquerque.

Upon reaching, we were swarmed by alot of pakcik-pakcik telling us which stall to go. Everyone seem yelling on top of their voice and it was very very annoying. Really Ma-Chi-Pet la...grrr
At the end, six of us dispersed in different direction. Seeing this, all of them went off and bugging another newly arrive customer. Then we gathered again for final decision.

88 seems got a lot of customers....the food must be very good la...

Ok, 88...here we come.

No pictures this time because my camera was drowed in 'foot water' during my pedicure session. Haaaaiiii.....

Anyway, food was so-so. Nothing to talk about too. We ordered Ikan bakar Portuguese Style, fried calamari, butter-milk prawn, devil's chicken, and i forgot. My permanently short term memory lost served me well. :)

After dinner activity is KARAOKE!

The Karaoke was situated at The Jetty, just a walking distance from our hotel. But walking distance also quite far. I think we walked for 5 minutes to reach there because it located at the very end of the Jetty. They do provide a golf cart service for you to sit in. We walked as we waited the buggy to appear but we didnt see any sign of it until we have reached the Karaoke. Tired. Not yet sing already tired le... haha

Walked and walked and walked...

Still walking...

Finally... Go Go KTV Box...

It is a decent and clean karaoke. No hanky-panky going on there despite you hear the name. Go Go rhyme with Agogo right? :)

Next morning we enjoyed our buffet breakfast in the hotel. They have variety of food selection there and it is definitely value for RM20++/person.

Salad, ham, doughnut, soft bun with butter and strawberry jam and I forgot what pie is that already. Lol

Scrambled egg, pau, hash browns, half siew mai, hot dogs with sambal. Hot dog dipped with sambal very nice :)

(i'm sure guys dont mind i put your pictures in my blog right? :D)

After breakfast we talked, we bitched, we laughed and prepared for check out at 12pm.

Before we went back, stopped by San Shu Gong at Dataran Pahlawan. This store sells almost the same product as Tan Kim Hock but their packaging are more nicely done. I bet all those already included in the price that we need to pay. Definitely a perfect choice if you want to make it as a gift.

Before we concluded our Melaka 2D1N trip, we had our lunch at this Hakka Restaurant.

Been there last time when we went to Melaka meeting with jk's brother's family. There I've tasted a very very super duper nice mui choy kau yuk (preserved vege with pork-layered-fats). I dont eat kau yuk normally because it very fatty and oily and yuckie. Anyway this shop served a very good one. One of the best...

And I didnt snap a picture. Hahaha..too busy eating already :)

My camera is working again after I left it opened up in our room overnight. I supposed the dry air conditional dried up all the components inside. Anway, it is a Good News!!

Clock wise: Butter Prawn, Vietnamese Spring roll (I think la), Salty fish pork, Stir-fried Choy tam
Middle: Bittergourd chicken

Melaka trip coming to an end. So guys, when will be our next trip again?

Malacca trip...part 1.

Selamat Sejahtera...and Selamat Hari Raya. Will be going back to my hometown tomorrow to celebrate Hari Raya.

Cousins and 3rd aunt will be coming for visit. My cousin sister asked me last night: "eh, what we are going to do in your house?"

I said "Err, got a few things can do la, 1st: main main with my superbaby, 2nd: koh tok (torture) by my superbaby, 3rd: koh tok my superbaby, list go on and on and on..... See? so many things to do.

I think my cousin sister pengsan on the spot.... hehe

Oh, about my Melaka trip. Fuywooh!! Soooo relax, sooooo bitchy, soooo full with food. :D

Dont really have a time to blog about it since I took more than 150 pictures and all waited to be edited. Anyway, here what we did in Melaka.

We started our journey at around 9am. On the way, our tyre was punctured by a bloody nail. So, eagerly looking for a shop to fix it and by the time we've done, it's already 10am.

So, Melaka...here we come!!

Yeah!! Finally.....Melaka, bandaraya bersejarah.

Thank you for welcoming us...You dont welcome also no choice because we've already here. Haha..

First stop for shopping at Tan Kim Hock that famous for their local products and durian cendol. Since one of our friend need to look for marshmallow specially for her nieces, so we stopped and let her do her shopping. I just walked around and snapped pictures la.

Mountain and mountains of cookies, crackers, biscuits, salty and sourish junk food...

"Eh, I want the one on top, nehhh...the highest one, can ar?"

Next, we proceed to more and more grocery shopping... We parked our car at jonker street and walked to dunno where to buy gula melaka. Haha...just followed and snapped pictures again

Negotiated gula melaka price with the shop owner.

PC: Bang, berapa satu?

Owner: Satu 3 ringgit, empat 10 ringgit.
(Continue nego nego nego, bla bla bla...until become RM10 for 7 pieces)

PC: Saya nak 20 ringgit, bang, bagi 15 boleh?

Owner: Aii, okla boleh la..

Me: Joo, how come from one for RM3 now become RM20 for 15 pieces ar?

Joo: I also dont know

Both of us giggle giggle giggle...

We should bring our nego-queen with us next time. She can do a very good job. :)

After we've done with our shopping (actually only one person buying things la..), it's almost lunch time. We planned to have our lunch at this very very famous-the first and foremost come out with the chicken rice ball recipe and idea Kedai Kopi Chung Wah. The queue was not that bad, so we thought while waiting for seat kill some time and waiting for S'pore's team B to arrive.

Anyway, chicken rice ball just ok, so-so. The big plate of steamed chicken looked like some chicken had been badly mutilated. Haha....all hancur. Taste wise quite bland and tasteless. Mmmm...maybe my tongue already spoilt. Like jk said: sudah rosak.. :)

From top left: Cendol from jonker88, top bottom: curry laksa and asam laksa
From top right: badly mutilated chicken, top bottom: chicken rice ball

Ok....finally checked in into our hotel. This time we were staying at Holiday Inn. The view was magnificent...over looking the Straits of Malacca. Nice nice nice (bleaming..from ear to ear :))

Holiday Inn welcoming us...

We requested for 2 rooms with connecting door in between. So that we can messed up the room all together. Haha..
The room was very very very nice and comfy. Yeap, definitely one of the best hotel in Malacca.

Swmming pool view from our room.

Did you see The Jetty sign? Haha...that is where we going to be tonight for Karaoke!! Yeah!!...
A bunch of aunties sing karaoke...While waiting for our room with all the youngsters, making me feel so old.

Ok, done for part 1. Tired...need my beauty sleep now. To be continue.....
